Maclaren techno XLR for huge 9 month old?

We have a Bugaboo Bee,used it for DD1 and have been using it for DS1 who is 9 months. He is massive (in 1.5-2year clothes). His height was way off the centiles at birth and still growing lots.

Now,the Bee is a bit snug for him now so thinking of a Maclaren which we'll attach our buggy board onto for DD.

The techno xlr is a lot more expensive than the xt and all the other maclarens but I've read that the seat is bigger so I'm wondering if it would be false economy to go for a more basic model?

Also,is it worth buying brand new so we get the lifetime guarantee rather than buying 2nd hand?

The mamas and papas Luna has a really wide seat with loads of room.

personally i found the luna AWFUL,very unstable,tipped constantly,and the harness was useless.
i use mine 3 times and sold it and bought an xt,its LOVELY, i dont use a buggy that often,but i love it as does ds (2.3yo)

TBH when i was looking, there wasnt much difference in price between a new one and a used one (about £30) but so i figured it was better to buy a new one,

think the cheapest when i bought mine was £148 in toys r us for the xt in black,and £175 on a website (sorry cant remember the name) for the xlr.for a 9mo i would go for the xlr,as the cosytoes is included and is very cosy,its also big so would last until your ds is out of a buggy x

Just be aware though that the pushchairs are only weight tested to 15kg. You say he is a very big boy- if he does get over that weight very quickly and it gets damaged the guarantee wouldn't cover repairs becasue it's being used beyond it's capacity.

I can't help with the pushchair, but I had a very chunky monkey as well. At 1yr old she weighed 2 stone and was in age 4-5 trousers.
Just to let you know their weight does tail off, she only put on 1lb in the whole of her year 1-2 life. Now 2.7 she is still bigger than most, but only in 3-4 clothes.
So just thought I'd let you know they don't keep growing bigger and bigger until they pop.

love the techno xlr for my DS and he's a super tall fairly chunky 6 month old. still plenty of room for him in this, i'd expect he'd still fit in it until he's about 18 months probably.

Xlr is super roomy and comfy heavier to push tho and larger folded have you thought about something with air tyres? My nipper worked fab with board

My 3 year old still fits comfortably in the XLR and she is pretty tall and sturdy- must be over the 15kg weight limit. It's lasted 3 years being used every day but is now a bit ropey after all the wear and tear it's been through. Cosy toe is great very roomy like the seat and last until DD was 2 and a half. Couldn't recommend it enough. Even with a hefty toddler and plenty of bags never had major problem pushing it.
