Anyone used Baby jogger city mini from birth

I am about to order Baby jogger city mini after reading raving reviews all over. We are based in a city, seems like a great product. However having second thoughts about using it for the newborn..

Has anyone used it for your baby from birth? Is the seat comfortable/secure enough for a newborn? I see kiddicare is selling bassinet for this, has anyone used bassinet on this model? I still dont see how it fits it into current model unless the whole seat comes off. If it supposed go with car seat adapter, would it mount on the top of existing seat ( like a car seat )? In that case it is convinient push etc.. Many thanks

I used one from birth and my ds was prem so weighed 4lb 14 when he came home. To be honest at that weight he drowned in it a bit, but was perfectly secure. I used to just put rolled up towels around him, or put him in the car seat on top as we never went out for very long. By the time he weighed about 7-8lb we stopped doing that so if you have a more usual weight baby I would have no concerns at all

It was very practical for us in a city, and very easy to manouvre. In fact when he was a titch it was so light we used to lift it over railings etc rather than go round.

They didn't have a bassinet at the time so i can't comment on that.

The new 2011 version is coming out in a month or so...This one has extra velcro straps to make the seat almost fully upright.

I used my BJCM for my big 3YO DS and have since passsed it onto a friend who has used it since birth for her DD now almost 2 and she says it has been great too.

I really did love everything about it as did DS.

We used it with the Jane nest which is the biggest cosiest poushchair I have came across.
