Mamas & Papas 03 Sport: is it me??

Does anyone else find this really bulky and irritating? It's the only pushchair I've used so I don't have a comparison. I find it such a fiddle to open and collapse and now DD is in the proper pushchair bit (rather than just clipping the car seat on) it seems to take ages to get anywhere by the time I've attached the hood and (in this weather) the rain cover.

Anyone?

I have one and I think it's brilliant, although I admit i do sometimes find it tricky to fold up.

I'm not accusing you of being stupid but is there enough air in the tyres? I only ask because I find when the tyres aren't quite full enough it feels really heavy to push!

I had one briefly after a million others and hated it as it was too heavy and bulky.
The Nipper 360 or mountain buggy are far lighter and easier to push.

I have one and it is bulky but I love the fact that the seat is huge and I find it easy to push.

The rain cover is a disaster though. I have had mine for over a year and still can't figure the cover out. It has velcro bits that don't seem to attach to anything.

DD2 is 2 now and I usually just dress her up warmly, use a buggy snuggle and not bother with the rain cover. The hood comes down quite low compared to many buggys.

Do you remove the hood to fold it? I don't and it folds fine.

its massive, heavy and doesnt fold small. But its solid durable and very reliable accross country. If you got something small and light it would be useless off road.

I also have a compact, lightweight pushchair that I use for shopping as the 03 sport just takes up too much room in the boot.

As sickoftheholidays says though, it is very reliable off road, I struggle to even push my lightweight one across grass!

I loved my 03 sport, I guess it does fold big etc but surely this was a consideration before hand?

We were lucky as we have a porch to put ours in though, you don't have to take the hood or raincover off to fold. I used to flip the hood and back and leave the raincover on the back but fold it back as far as it will go onto hood IYSWIM then just collapse as normal.

FWIW I have pushed a twin nipper which is also an 'all terrain' and it felt so bloody flimsy it was like pushing a dolls pram!

I have been using this pram for just over 2 years, at first i loved it, big seat, rugged wheels, a breeze to push on the beach when others were struggling to drag their little strollers along.

However, i have just fallen out of love with it. After calling M&P Aftercare about the hinge as it keeps popping and collapsing with toddler in!! I was told as it is out of the 12month guarantee i would have to pay £50 to send it in, and if it is a non manufacturing fault (eg wear and tear) I would then have to pay £50 to have it fixed and sent back. If i choose not to have it fixed it will cost £10 to send it back (not too unreasonable but still leaves me without a usable pram)

Personally i think the hinges failing are a safety issue and should be treated as a serious fault. Even if 2 years of wear and tear has caused it, I would still expect a pram to last more than 2 years minimal use especially as most of these 2 years I have used a silver cross pop as a lighter day to day use in lieu of the heavier and bulkier M&P 03 Sport.

Anyone else have any similar issues?
