repair costs for P & T. Reasonable?

Have had endless problems with P & T Sport. Out of warranty, but Mothercare thought it should be sent back.

Just heard that it needs a new seat unit, new front tyre and repair one of the rear ones.

Cost: £70.00

Reasonable? Or should I cut my losses on it?

I think that's a reasonable price, you could try a quote from Buggypit stop see if they will do cheaper. Depends if you need it that bad or can live without it.

How old is it and has it had excessive use?

I'd argue that if its only just out of warranty then its not fit for purpose and hence should be replaced at the manufacturers cost.

Ditto what ANTagony said. I think Phil and Teds are appallingly badly made for the cost. Very cheaply manufactured. Get it repaired and sell on if that makes financial sense. Buy a baby jogger next time. Baby Jogger stuff is fantastic quality. They are wonderful to use too. There's a new city classic on ebay at a great price. Baby Jogger's are amazing value for money given the quality and durability. I am a pramaholic and have tried virtually everything. I have a baby Jogger city summit. It is brilliant.

It's about 3 years old. yes, I agree with the not fit for purpose issue. Not really abused, but it has been used off road quite a bit, but isn't that what it's for?

Do Baby Joggers do doubles?

yes baby jogger do city elite twin. City classic twin and city mini twin. They also do a city select.

mel2005 · 28/11/2010 15:47

the city select isnt as good quality as the elite. i would say the select is the same quality as my p&t.
if you go off-road the select is terrible on any type of camber. also the city mini isnt great off-road, you would be better off with the 12'' wheel ones like the elite or classic. i have a BJ twinner (16'' wheels) thats over 10 years old and its still fab but because its a running buggy it hasnt been used daily. i think BJ are trying to cut costs with the newer buggies (like p&t did).

the mountain buggies are good as well, mine has been really well used and is still like new. i have the pre-2010 NZ made version, they are now owned by p&t and the newer ones are not such great quality and are made in china in the p&t factory.
