Should I bother looking at anything other than a Baby Jogger?

Grandparents have very generously offered to buy a pram for dd. She's currently in a mothercare urban elite that was £30 from eBay, my intention being that i would use a sling most of the time, the grandparents could use the buggy and then we'd buy something smaller when she was older.

But 7 week old dd is very reluctant in any of the 5 slings I've bought so have resigned myself to needing a proper pram.

My main criteria are that it's lightweight, has one handle, suitable for the tube and country walks, folds small into a fairly small boot

Baby Joggers seem to fit the bill, but are there any others I should look at?

not sure which would suit our needs - micro, mini, elite? would an elite be over the top?

Wouldnt get a micro- a mini is much more superior. Plus micro not suitable from birth.

No exeperience of a elite I'm afraid. Think they are bulkier.

I spent a while researching and came up with Baby Jogger City Mini too. Managed to get ours second hand. Only thing is it doesn't look great with car seat adaptor compared to some other systems. Didn't put us off as we went for group 0/1 car seat.

The Elite is huge and heavy to lift, so not ideal if you're going to be putting it in and out of the car.

Mini is a great pram, mine was ok in the snow last year, although I had to drag it, but it was easy enough because of the one handle.

Sorry, pressed enter too early. If you do a lot of walking though, the Elite would probably be a good pram, air tyres, huge basket and the footrest adjusts. Also it is more plush and cushioned then the mini.

I've had both and both are good.

Not sure about elite - is that like classic? We got classic originally, then took it back to swap for a mini, as it was way too heavy for me, and too big for boot. The mini is good for us, as it fits nicely in boot, and if you take wheels off (very easy) you can fits lots of other bits in there if you're going away (we have skoda fabia, so not huge).

I am sitting in waiting for my mini to be delivered and wondering why I didn't buy this to start with, DD is 7 months and we have lugged around the quinny buzz for 7 months....

I have been looking/researching for this as 2nd lightweight buggy but to be honest would have done the job brilliantly from birth.

I've been looking at getting one of these too, probably the micro as I really like the lime colour one - or am I being mad for thinking that? onadietcoke how is the mini better? I probably need to look into this a bit more. Or have I got the 2 muddled up already?

Mini has full recline and therefore suitable from birth.

It also has a massive hood -i dont need a raincover or sunshade its so big.

Mesh ventalation when reclined for hot weather.

Extra pockets and bigger basket I think.

Micro is heavier too

I thought Micro couldnt take car seat and carrycot but that chart says it can.....

Yes thats true, the hood is fabulous on the mini - no faffing around with stupid parasol's that you have to move every time you turn a corner!
