Babyjogger City Mini and stroller fleeces / buggysnuggles?

We've just looked at the Babyjogger City Mini buggy and it seems really brilliant - looks comfy, great folding mechanism (easiest I've seen), light and easy to lift into our car, folds up small, nice low canopy etc. But I have a couple of concerns and wonder if anyone here has any thoughts.

Firstly because the folding mechanism is a handle on the seat, just where the baby's bottom would be, I don't think you could use a stroller fleece or proper buggysnuggle, because the handle would be covered. I think the fleece is a really cosy addition for a baby - much nicer than the buggy fabric so I'm not keen from this point of view. Has anyone found a way around this?

Also, although it's 'from birth' I'm a bit worried that it's not cosy or cushioned enough for a newborn. But it's our first, so what do I know!

laska you just beat me to it. I came on to post a Q about BJCM and buggysnuggles too. I'm planning on getting one for my 10 week old for the car as my big 3 wheeler is so heavy.

I have asked the same question about buggysnuggles and been told that its fine and it works ok. You just need to reach under the buggy snuggle to pull it. Not mangaged to get round to putting my buggy snuggle on yet. Alternatively you could buy a babyjogger footmuff or custom made snukie which the handle fits through.

Also you can get a carrycot for newborns which may make it more comfortable.

You can also take pushchair cover off and its then looks like a traditional pram (a ebay seller sent me pics of hers used this way)

I've had a BJCM and buggysnuggles work fine on them. Doesn't affect the way the pram folds at all as you just reach under the BS and pull.

Also, because the seat has a mesh at the top you have to thread theties through, but agian, works fine.

Sorry Dietcoke, I've never had a carrycot on mine. The covers come off easily enough though if that is what you're planning on doing. Not sure how the carrycot attaches.

I also had a BJCM footmuff, they are lovely and great for all year as they have a fleece that zips off in warmer weather.

If you were going to be using from birth and didn't want to get the BJCM carrycot, you could get a soft carrycot, like a P&T one, and that would make the pram more snug.

Thanks for the reassurance that the buggysnuggle will work with the fold mechanism. I will finally get myself a BJCM after much justification to self for getting a lighter pushchair after 3 years of lugging a huge 3 wheeler into the car boot. I bought a cheapie umbrella fold buggy but can't bear it. I hope the BJCM lives up to the hype.

100% vote for the mcbj. Our Loola footmuff and bag (red) match the red and cream of the MCBJ, and it folds easily!

Thanks for all the info everyone! Great news on the buggysnuggle verdict, but has anyone successfully used a stroller fleece (like one and been able to fold it OK? Vecause it's not a very padded seat I think I'd really want a fleece inside it.

I had imagined that I'd have a buggy snuggle with a stroller fleece on top of the underside IYSWIM, but I'm just not sure whether I'll be able to get my hand underneath to grab the strap to fold it, and then if I can whether it'll be too bulky to fold properly

It looks like such a great buggy that fits our needs (comfy for baby, light enough to lift into back of car, easy to fold, removes need for massive buggy then a mclaren later, good enough for dog walking, great canopy etc etc etc!) so really want to find out if I can make it as snug as possible with the stroller sheepskin.

As long as you can get hand under it should be fine.

Don't worry about folding as it folds so the liners are on outside.

Personally I would just get a snuggle-babies are very resilent.

Or just get a snunkie footmuff custom made-may work out cheaper and handle problem solved!
