Pram suggestions for some one who wants but can't afford iCandy
chocolatestar · 27/09/2010 18:37
I am pregnant with no 2, ds 1 is about to turn 3 so thinking about double buggies. I love the iCandy peach and pear prams but could never afford one. Any suggestions for a good but cheaper alternative?

What about 2nd hand ones? You could get one a lot cheaper, especially the pear as the peach has taken over from that.

Have just realised your DS1 will be 3. TBH I wouldn't get either with him being that age as the seats are quite small.
You'd be better off with something like a P&T or double nipper. Or a singe pram and buggy board.

P&t prams are cool, do you know how heavy they are?I need something I can fold up and put in my boot and I am only five ft 1.

Oh you are tiny! Not sure how heavy they are, but I don;t thing they'd be reat for foding and unfolding every day.
What kind of car do you have? Does it have a big boot?

VW golf so quite big. The techno looks good and second hand could be quite cheap too.

get a buggy board, a three year old will be fine on that. we got one for dd1 when she was two and a half.

if your ds1 is going to be 3 and a bit when baby arrives i don't think you;ll need a double.
just get a sling, so if ds1 gets tired you can sling baby and pop him in the pushchair. otherwise he can walk and baby goes in pushchair

That would save me the hassle of selling my old pram. I have a mama and papa's pramette - an old one.
Too much choice!!
chocolatestar · 28/09/2010 06:15
Wouldn't work for the first 6 months though as baby will be in a pram. I suppose I am worried about getting stuck out and about with ds and not coping. How easy is a buggy board?
Aitch · 28/09/2010 10:51
a doddle. he will love it. esp if the baby is in the pram as he'll be able to chat to him or her.
