Footmuffs for the Bugaboo Bee Plus - I'm confused!!

So I want to get a Footmuff for my Bugaboo Bee Plus but I'm confused about a few things?? Firstly...I have a Quinny Buzz footmuff...would that fit (thereby saving me some cash!) Secondly...is the Bugaboo footmuff worth the £90 price tag? Thirdly...how the heck do you fit the footmuff on there - I've seen people talking about the white clips at the back, but when I've had a look at them, they don't look as though they're budging!! Thx for any help.

A friend told me their footmuff only fitted if seat in forward facing position so pointless otherwise. But they may have changed that for the plus.

carrielou2007 · 27/09/2010 22:02

The footmuff will fit in forward and rearfacing. You need the 'universal' one a bee one will not fit a bee+. They have a hookover back so will fit the cam and loops to fit bee+ take the hood off first.

Any footmuff should fit but will depend on the position of the holes for the harness. They are expensive but worth it, there is an off white cove(red) one for sale at babypages for 50 posted, mine came last week to go with my dark blue and black ones Smile

horsemadgal · 28/09/2010 12:14

carrielou, is that cove(red) one a universal?
Just I couldnt get the Cameleon ones to fit my Bee Plus.

MonkeysPunk · 28/09/2010 18:36

Glad to hear the universal fit ones have the hookover and loops to fit bee+ I had looked and looked online to try and find out how they fitted - and gave up and ordered a snunkie (believing the bugaboo footmuff to only fit in with the harness straps alone - and imagining it would "slip down" constantly with a toddler wriggling about!).
Does the universal one open at the foot end (for shoes to poke through?)... or is it really large and will it fit a 3/4y old?

carrielou2007 · 28/09/2010 18:59

Hmmn, will have to get bee+ out of the car and have a try now!! I'm sure it did fit when I just popped it on top and not do up the bottons on the hood, will look fab with black hood I think Grin

MP they have a zip either side hat meets at the bottom to zip off totally or yes for buggy feet to poke out! They are big, will measure it later if you want but the one I had for dd she outgrew it aged 2 and buggysnuggles and I had to buy pupabag. She has freakishly long legs though!! Ds is huge (also on 91st centile) so it could just be my long children!!

EmmaNicole · 28/09/2010 20:00

Thx all for your replies...I've now worked out how to undo the white clips at the back - it's actually very easy. I'm still weighing up the options on the footmuff though...the contenders so far seem to be - Bugaboo universal, Snunkie or Buggysnuggles...so much choice but as ever I think it'll come down to price!

So the zip definately is double ended so feet can poke out while the sides are zipped? And it definately buttons onto the seat?

carrielou2007 · 28/09/2010 21:15

oh no sorry, misunderstood, no you can not have the feet poking out whilst sides are zipped, only that it zips off to free feet, think the new bugysnuggles you can do this with now, yes universal one has loops for the buttons on the hood.

MonkeysPunk · 29/09/2010 15:46

oh, ok - thanks.

sickoftheholidays · 29/09/2010 17:42

Poshbugs - like snunkie, only nicer.............

Tweetinat · 30/09/2010 16:08

Cameleon FM's do fit the Bee Plus - plenty of ladies have done it on the Facebook Bugaboo page. If you fancy a Paul Frank Julius one then Mothercare have them on sale at the moment - £70 down from £110 and there are quite a few 10% off codes about at the moment too making it even cheaper... Smile

(Also second sickoftheholidays - Poshbugs' stuff is much nicer than snunkie for the Bee (IMO) )

MonkeysPunk · 01/10/2010 14:48

Tweetinat and sickoftheholidays How much nicer and why? (after I already ordered the snunkie one!)....
So how do the camelon footmuffs fit the bee plus? Do they button on? or just fit with the harness?

sickoftheholidays · 01/10/2010 17:42

Poshbugs just has a better more professional finish, and better fit on the bugaboo, she's a bug specialist. The bee and bee + hoods are a better fit than the bugaboo ones.

carrielou2007 · 01/10/2010 18:11

I've had both Poshbugs and Snunkie stuff and would say both are of equal quality and finish. I have never had chunkle munkle stuff but also know she has a lot of fans on here.

Tweetinat · 01/10/2010 19:01

I just found that Poshbugs just 'fit' better - especially on the bee plus. The quality is superb, really good.

As for the cam footmuffs - mine just arrived today :)

They fit by a flap of fabric that fits over the back of the seat. The reason it doesn't 'officially' fit, is that you then can't get to the buttons to do the hood up, but I found that you can actually do them up through the fabric anyway. so no probs.

I actually ended up getting a universal footmuff too and so can compare the fit. The Cam is much wider and there is a bit of excess material that comes up at the sides, but I like that as it makes it more snuggly for DS.

Universal is skinny-er, so no excess fabric, but much longer - by about 10cm I'd say, so will (hopefully) last longer../

MonkeysPunk · 02/10/2010 16:04

don't suppose you could measure the length of the universal fit bugaboo one could you? Wondering if it's worth getting for ds who is already two. Expect to be using pushchair for a couple more years due to no car and lots of walking.

Liz79 · 02/10/2010 21:05

does anyone else find it difficult to put the seat unit on/off the chassis with a footmuff in situ? I think it makes it more bulky so you can't get the back of the seat so close to the bottom of the seat and the black/white cicle bits don't line up so well

MonkeysPunk · 02/10/2010 22:39

I found this even with just a liner on the seat.

EmmaNicole · 03/10/2010 22:04

Well I took the plunge and ordered the universal footmuff yesterday....very expensive but hopefully it'll be worth it. And seems as though there's a good resale market for Bug stuff.

Sorry MonkeysPunk - I decided to keep the Julius Cameleon one and return the universal so can't give you exact measurements, but I think the uni was 69cm and the cam 59cm from the base of the seat to the end of the toe end.

MonkeysPunk · 04/10/2010 18:10

thanks for those measurements. I'll bear them in mind. Hoping my snunkie one will be here in a couple of weeks. Don't suppose you know any of the mothercare codes do you? I saw the Paul frank blanket had money off too.

Tweetinat · 04/10/2010 22:42

JLK will give 10% off a £120 spend with free delivery. I used that and bought the two footmuffs to get the disc. When you return in store you end up keeping the disc on the item you keep =)

MonkeysPunk · 05/10/2010 09:54

thank you!
