Anyone care to help me find a new stroller?

These are my needs:

Something easy to push for miles and miles, mostly in urban environments but perhaps thru the muddy heath on occasion, too.

Good for 10 to 15 kg child (DS is 2yo already).

...Yet, ideally not that heavy.

The bigger the shopping basket the better, but ideally short enough length I could take it into wee town centre shops, too.

Price under 200 ideally, I guess I could stretch to 300, but I only want to use it for another 22 months or so.

Handle height not too low -- I don't want to bend over it.

Nothing on Ebay, what would you suggest to buy new? My current buggies are all difficult to steer: umbrella-folders with worn out wheels, and an M&P 03 Sport.

Micralite superlite - off www.kiddicare.com - because it comes with a "free" micralite snugglebag which is big enough for a 2.5y old - so you'd perhaps be able to use that this winter.
Really light.
Small enough for urban environments, yet rear air tyres will help with the odd bit of off-road activity.
Also most weight from seat is transferred to the rear wheels and thus makes light work of a heavy load!
Really easy to push. Durable and a quality brand. Comes with raincover - also good quality and quick and easy to fit - stores in bag on handlbar when not in use. Hammock seat is supercomfy for kids - no hard edges - and absorbs shocks. Improved recline on this model - so no more lolling heads when they fall asleep.
Turns on a pin - adjustable handlebar height (without tools - quick and easy!). Very easily manouverable. Folds as small as an umbrella type - but handles very much better - so much easier to push! Brilliant value for money.

Promising.... is the Hammock seat quite strong? It just looks a bit wimpy to put a 4yo child into, even a quite small-for-age 4yo (yes, I will be a saddo with a 4yo child still in buggy, but that's another discussion!).

Well, we've had no problems with our 6y old in it! - and it really did make light work of her too! Think it says 20kg in the instruction book - which is 5kg more than maclaren advise too!

I second the micralite, had a fastfold now have a toro, just fab fab fab
Because of the hammock seat and it being a bit higher up than an umbrella fold you don't have the prob of your child dragging feet on ground when they get bigger.

Oh my lad was in it the odd time when he was 4 the hammock is very sturdy. Best to check one out in the flesh.

Reading your post I would say you could get what you're after for far less than £200. I personally really like the Zia, its easy to fold and the new colour I have (Dogtooth) is just fantastic.
Its very light and the basket is easily big enough. You can pick one up for around £100 these days.
My new one also has adjustable handles now so any handle height is accounted for.
It might suit your needs i'm not sure, but i've always been happy with it.
