how much to have gas fire taken out and wood burner put in?

can anyone advise me please? am putting this on my wish list for 2011 and would like a rough idea of what i need to save.

I'd say depends where you live, anywhere between £800- £2800, including the flue. Plus the cost of the stove.

Does your gas fire sit in a chimney breast already?
Wood burning stoves are pretty reasonable...that is unless you go for the uber modern versions like this! www.westcountryfires.co.uk/faber-haakon-woodburning-fire-p-213.html
