As above.Have now paid him over £1000 for doing very little over 3 and a bit days.I was issued an emergency notice regarding a severe water leak [1600 litres per hour] which was running down the road via our ancient very tall garden wall 400 yards away from the leak. After 3 days faffing arround connected the new pipe up yesterday above the ground and cut off water to my downstairs bathroom!.After continual stupid questions from said builder and sheer incompetence have sacked him and am now left with blue water pipe above ground ,two holes in drive, one massive hole in the utility wall and new builder who is very puzzled by me and old builder.

Builders are like hairdressers, always like to imply that the last one you used was a complete no-hoper (when they probably would have cut just as many corners given half the chance)so don't feel bad for choosing a dud. #1000 is a lot of money but, to give it a bit of perspective, around here plumbers can charge #150 per hour for an emergency call out so, you know, perhaps it isn't as bad as it sounds...

God, where do you live lalalonglegs?.I have calmed down now after 3 glasses of wine. The new builder is ok and is very detail orientated wheras old builder was a psycho!.Wanted to run water pipes across the roof!.Also wanted to totally replace sewage pipes so easier to drill thru' everything to bury the water pipe.I'm glad i realised he was a total crook before it was too late!
