building a fitted wardrobe?

I have bought a new build house with alcoves where the fitted wardrobes should go.
The builders wanted a ridiculous amount to fit them.
I want mirror sliding doors with ikea style storage inside, drawers, baskets etc. Is this possible at a reasonable price?
Any ideas?

How much were you quoted?

Well could you buy the inside storage stuff from ikea and fit them and the sliding doors yourself?

make sure there is no damp or will ruin your clothes

I have a man coming this week to quote. I have a picture in my head, and a sum of money! Just don't know if the two are reasonable!
The doors should be £60 each and I need 4 so about £300 including tracks.
I just don't know if Ikea stuff needs to be fitted into Ikea outsides or if anyone knows of any alternatives.
I don't want to spend more than £1000 if poss.

Screwfix have different types of wardrobes - i think on special offer at the moment.I don't know anything about the quality but the prices seem very reasonable online [screwfix.com].
