I have a Stanley, which is like an oil fired Rayburn - does all the hot water, heating and cooking for a large four bed house. My Stanley is programmed to go on and off, unlike a Rayburn I had which was on all the time. I filled up with oil twice a year, maybe less, and my tank was 2500 litres.

You need to get them serviced as well. She needs to check out oil prices (I got a deal for anything over 2000 litres) and servicing costs.
