Staircase cost.

We want to replace the handrail and spindles on our staircase, we live 3 bed semi in Bromley. We've been quoted £2700, jsut for the labour, which we think is a bit high (to put it mildly!) Has anyone had this type of work done, and would you mind saying how much you paid? Thanks.

That sounds very high. We had a new oak staircase put in when we had our loft extension done. It's a proper staircase with landing and it cost 800. That was three years ago, though.

Sounds like they don't want the job, unless they've factored in a trip to the rainforest to cut some mahogany for you
