The curtains are chocolate brown and new so need to stay. The floor is plain floorboards. Currently I have the back wall in potters wheel and the rest of the room in fondant something which is vile.

Off to paint in dc1 and 2's room so back later to see if anyone has ideas so I can go to Homebase and get the paint.

Also, where do I dispose of old paint tins with paint still in them? Doesn't seem right to just put them in the wheely bin.

TIA .

A classic colour that goes with chocolate brown is duck egg blue. Does that appeal?

FabIsGettingFit · 21/06/2010 10:00

I am not against it. Would it look cold though?

i have that colour combo in my room...looks nice, and lots of accessories available at the mo.

FabIsGettingFit · 21/06/2010 10:33

Is the colour actually called Duck Egg Blue?

i don't have the walls painted in it. mainly bedding and accesssories, rest is brown/beige/coffee colours. but i believe it is actually named duck egg blue, depending on brand...

other colour option i'd have is cerise....but i dont have a dh to object to pink, and i know you do!!

FabIsGettingFit · 21/06/2010 11:09

It is like a light pink atm but it awful. I don't know what possessed me. DH suggested yellow .

Not thinking blue tbh. The boys have 2 shades of blue in their rooms. I want something vibrant. I am rubbish with colours.

Our bedroom is Crown's Toasted Almond, which is gorgeous, sort of like Baileys. It's very restful so maybe not for you if you want vibrant.

Otherwise how about an aqua sort of colour with the chocolate brown - sort of like this/

Sidge · 21/06/2010 11:21

Oh bum links didn't work completly, I'd edited them so all walls were the same colour!

Oh well gives you an idea.

FabIsGettingFit · 21/06/2010 11:25

What colour is the toasted almond, on the homebase site it shows lilac.

At out local "recycling center" (formerly known as the tip) they take paint. I don't think you are supposed to put them in the wheely bin.

FabIsGettingFit · 21/06/2010 12:13

Rather unexpectedly I have come back with

Soft stone
Totally nutmeg
Iced frappe

All buscuit/almond colours.

I did look at a really bright red/pink/burgandy but decided it probably wouldn't go with the curtains.

Thanks Sparky, that's what I thought too.

I always decant remaining paint into empty jam jars, it is handy for touch ups then. Your colours sound similar to our sitting room
