Feature Wall

We're moving into a Victorian rented property and the Landlady has boarded up the fireplace.

The living room is quite small but looks plain and boring painted magnolia.

How do we make an effective feature wall out of the chimney breast without going to the expense of uncovering the fireplace?

Help??

Cover a board with padding and some gorgeous patterned fabric and hang over the mantlepiece (or stand it on the mantlepiece of you're not alowed to hang things(I love designers guild and osborne and little, pricy but you won't need much more than a metre for what you'll be doing). You could pick out on or two of the fabric colours as your accent colour for the room to pick up in cushions/accessories like vases and candles. Simple vase of something structural (like curly twigs, or fresh flowers if you can afford) in front of the boarded fireplace.

simples!
