Is it ok/allowed for me to come on here and have a small scream ..

Ah. That's better. Thank you for bearing with me. Back to pretend "zen-like" state now and preparing myself mentally to potentially start re-marketing the house. Ho hum ...

why is it about to collapse? Can you do anything to salvage it? How is the reason for the collapse?

So infuriating when that happens!

well .... it looks as though our buyer may not be able to get their mortgage - we are waiting to hear - and in the meantime, their buyer (who has been waiting for a long time) is about to run out of time with regard to their own mortgage offer. We are hoping that they may be able to get their offer extended. Am keeping everything crossed here for a favourable outcome by the end of today!

Pcworld please don't give up hope just yet- this was us 3.5 weeks ago...and we moved in last week. It looked as if it was all going down the tubes as our buyer had had his first mortgage offer rejected/not granted (not sure what right word is! We expressed concerns to our EA 'should we buy taking viewings again' etc, and poof! Within a week he had another mortgage offer on the table and we had to complete by 9th June to satisfy the buyers below him.

I have a feeling our buyer was 'shopping around' to get the best mortgage deal and generally taking his time and when we expressed concerns he realised he had to get his skates on and get a mortgage offer accepted.

I really hope this is the case for you too.
