I am going round in circles trying to decide on the colour for the bathroom and what type of tiles to have. I want something quite modern but reasonably cheap - any ideas?

We are redesigning our bathroom at the moment. I am going for dark grey slate effect tiles on the floor - these and white vertically ridged tiles on the walls.

On the bath wall (ie over the bath)i am having these and these thinner ones running down the wall in a vertical line like so: [thin] [fat] [thin]

I was very close to going for beigey travertine style tiles on the walls but i couldn't find any darker beige/brownish floor tiles I liked. Also I thought that with grey it would enable me tochange colour cheme eg by changing towels and accessories more easily than beige/natural tones.

White metro, or white metro with a coloured frieze.

I also like white metro, the matt kind with flat not bevelled edges.
Not so keen on edging though. Plainer the better IMO...

I didn't want anything brown/beige

notasize10yetbutoneday - Your tiles are fab!

I was thinking of white with black/dark grey for the same reasons as you with the accessories etc.

I like quite plain styles with just a little detail.

We're having a shower, sink and toilet on one wall and the bath in the middle of the opposite wall (we have quite a big bathroom which unfortunately due to the position of the door means we can't have a freestanding bath in the middle of the room!)

I think we're going to go with vinyl flooring

Glad you like them AM. The wall opposite the bath is only tiled halfway up so I am thinking of painting that a raspberry colour and having raspberry colour towels- for now, anyway!

sounds fab

I want the same sort of thing, but am struggling for tiles to go vertically on the bath wall - my DP said no to the ones you have

I've got some pink towels and love bright colours so thought we could tie this in with painting the bare walls and accessorising and then I can change it when I get bored with it

Pfft, men what do they know!

Bright pink sounds fab with white, black/dark grey.

The topps tiles website have tons of black tiles, I was really spoilt for choice, and theres free delivery when you spend over £60. Unfortunately I discovered that after we had nearly broken the suspension and our backs taking ours home ourselves.

I liked these:
but they are a matt finish not sure if thats what you would like
