Fit toilet and sink THEN tile or other way around?

It would make more sense to tile first then you won't have awkward cuts but you will have to drill through the tiles and they are easily broken. We recently had a new bathroom fitted and the fitters fitted then tiled!

tile first, that way there are not funny gaps between toilet and floor.

Personally I think it makes sense to fit the toilet/sink first, then you won't have awkward gaps! There are tools to deal with awkward cuts.

Pipework first, then tile, obviously you'll have to cut holes in the tiles to go around the pipes, then put loo and sink against wall onto tiles, so you have no gaps.
