Upper Hale / Farnham - reassure me!

Hi,

So after taking a really long time narrowing down our massive search area, we've found a lovely house in Upper Hale, Farnham (in Surrey). Offer accepted, moving forward, fingers crossed! I think I'm just having jitters because I don't know the area that well. So anyone who can reassure me that it's a good place to live, please do! Or any information about living there with small children very welcome.

Thankyou!

Farnham is nice, I don't know Upper Hale so well...perhaps you could do that thing that I remember being advised, go and sit outside your possible house at different times of day and late at night and see whats going on?

It is nice - I was in Farnham yesterday. Don't worry.

I live in Farnham with two young children and absolutely love it. There are so many play groups on each day so really easy to meet new mothers. The schools are fantastic and the park (which will be on your doorstep) is great for children.
Farnham is a lovely safe town and I am so happy that we moved here three years' ago!
Plus you have good shops and restaurants which means you are not completely isolated. The train to London takes around 50 minutes but to be honest I don't go into London that much anymore as there is so much to do here. Alice Holt Forest and Birdworld are a few minutes' drive away.
How old are your children?

DD is 3 and a half and DS is 9 months. I'm so pleased you love it and glad it's worked out for you - that's exactly what I needed to hear!

Going by at different times is a good idea, I think going regularly might make it feel a bit more real too.

Hiya, I live in Upper Hale, I have 2 boys nearly 4 and 9 months, same as u! There is soooo much to do here, toddler group in Bethel Lane mon and Thurs am, Coffee morning in Bethel Lane Tues am, another Toddler group in St Mark's Church on near Tesco's Express on a Tues and Toy Library in Hale Village Hall every Fri which even runs through the hols!!

I have made so many lovely friends here, it was the best thing we ever did to move here, the kids are so happy and settled, pre-schools and schools are all fab, beautiful places to visit, Farnham's got it all and we'll never move again. Welcome to Farnham, u will love it!

Hi I grew up in Upper Hale, Farnham - its a lovely area really really nice - still miss it even though its 20 years since I officially lived there.

That's lovely to hear L.

L1, do you mind me asking which school you're thinking of sending your eldest to next year?

Oh and does anyone know a really good nursery / pre-school / childminder in the area? I'm going to be working part-time so will need some form of childcare but have no idea what yet!
