Is it stupid to paint mexican pine furniture?

We bought quite a lot of very chunky rustic mex pine furniture when we moved into this house 9 years ago. and i've mostly gone off it now.

Is it worth trying to sell it - does it still sell? or shall I paint the bedroom furinture at least - cream shabby-chic type thing? Is that just beyond naff or actually quiute sensible?

I've never had any of that type but have paiinted "normal" pine furniture quite successfully. Maybe try painting the smallest thing you have first?

I painted all of our rusticy pine stuff. It's in my son's room at the moment.

The fist bit I did the knots showed through so DH painted some sealer stuff on it.

After that I painted away, it looks very different.

The only fault I have with it, is that the paint seems to chip quite easily if knocked.
