I passed through Northwood recently and it looks v pleasant and leafy.

But what are the state primaries and secondaries like? I'd hate to move there only to have to up sticks again when the kids are 11.

I lived there for a few months but I can't help much with schools (wasn't relevant as we didn't have children at the time). There's a nice little high street with some restaurants/shops and a Waitrose. Houses seemed to be pretty expensive (again, didn't affect us as we were in MQs) and there's a huge tri-service, multi-national military base slap bang in the middle of it.

Regarding secondary schools - everyone we knew boarded their children, so I don't even have second-hand opinions to offer, sorry.
