We have a new room south facing with a patio door in it then further along a big window thats the same size of the patio - its a lovely sunny room but i feel a bit exposed when im being a slob on a night so could do with some kind of blinds i can close at will. Have just been looking at verticals though not a fan normally they are practicall and would do the job so then i stumbled courtesy of another mumsneteer these wooden verticals

Does anyoe have wooden verticals to comment on clankyness and heavyness? Please

Can't help you on the clankyness (what a fab word) as I don't have them, but balsawood is very light.

Have never seen these before but they do
look nicer than normal verticals. The only thing I would consider is will they look like a wooden wall when closed and will you mind if they do? I have normal wooden venetians on a large bay and they do look quite full-on when closed...

Have you thought about roller blinds? They would be almost invisible during the day if fully rolled back.
