Self builds - what proportion of budget spent on the kit?

Hello, any self builders out there? We've seen a few nice kit houses, ranging from £40 for just the kit, to around £60k for supply and install to wind and watertight..

I can't find much detail though how much of the total budget (excl. land) is taken up by the kit. If anyone has gone down the kit road, can you maybe give me an inkling of how much you have needed to pay out above the basic kit price

DH says the kit is usually about 25% of the overall build price but it can differ massively depending on style, finish etc etc.

Foundations can be another big expense after kit and land costs and with depend on the size of the house and materials it's made from and the lay of the land.

This is a good site for getting an idea what it will cost
