my pup has chewed and clawed my dining room carpet, i cant afford to replace it. i have 2 options, buy some rugs (1 wont do it) or pull it up. under the underlay is hardboard(obviously rubbish floorboards)it has been stained so looks quite woody. would this look ok? am thinking could always paint with floor paint or something until can afford alternative flooring.

Can you put a rug on top?.Dunelm do some really good polypropylene rugs in plain beige that are washable with soap and water. They look a bit like wool carpet and are very easy to keep clean. They are inexpensive and I have even cleaned kids paint off mine.I think they do them in other colours and sizes too.

thanks, not really wanting to claim on insurance as by time pay excess and lose no claims wont be worth it. dh came home and took one look at orange fake boards that he now thinks he can run to some wooden flooring,so now am on the hunt for laminate that looks good .
