After your brilliant help with what colour to paint my kitchen I now need your help with what colour to do the downstairs loo in

It is a small room with cream/biscuit coloured square lino type flooring. There are 6 cream coloured tiles around the sink. It is currently a butter yellow type paint with added extras by the kids. Ideally it would be a darker colour to try and hide their finger marks, paint splashes and all the other mess when they show their hands to the water for a second and the use the wall and towel to clean them. As the room is small though I don't want it looking dark or dreary. Help!!!!

TIA

we have painted our very tiny downstairs loo in laura ashley raspberry. i was a bit frightened when the first coat went on but it is gorgeous and gets admiration from all. we have 'stone' coloured tiles (from Homebase) above basin and pretend tiled lino (we had to do something quick and cheap!) and it all looks lovely.

we have a really nice but tiny roman blind from an offcut of osborne and little fabric from old house which is yellow in the main with splashes of red and green (sounds horrid but trust me).

wicker magazine rack holds pare loo roll (from asda) and dh's books. wilkinsons cuba loo roll holder/towel ring completes the look.
at some point we will replace basin and loo but we have no money and did all of this for £60

I agree with red, even though it's a little room it can look really good. My d/stairss loo is white tiled up to chest height then Dulux Roasted Red above, wit black and white tiled floor & black & white accessories and looks nice and cosy. Lots of white fluffy towels lighten it all up as well. No blind or curtains, just wobbly glass.

Sorry, I went to do my exercising.

Red sounds fab!!

It is Dulux feature wall paint in raspberry diva.

It looks really really good.

Thanks guys!!

I intend to do the whole house so I will be back at some point for help with the next room and colour.

I've got Rasperry Diva in my downstairs snug, looks nice n cosy.

How did the kitchen go and what colour did you do in the end?

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 11/05/2010 19:35

I did the kitchen in overtly olive and I love it.

Dh was initially not supportive of the new raspberry loo as he said he felt it was dark when he went in. He thinks it is okay now after I emotionally made him feel bad.

DS painted our downstairs loo bright orange I was a bit at first, but I really like it now. I'm planning to get a Leonid Afremov print - probably this one for the wall on the left, and I need to replace the repulsive carpet with either cream or slate vinyl/tiles, and the door needs changing too

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 11/05/2010 19:43

I like that .
