I started building some shelves, but have put teh top in shere the bottom should be.

Do those little round turney things which go into a hole and fix to a screw ever come out?(Please say yes) And if so how???

If you put your flat-headed screwdriver in the slot and jiggle it can help. Or use a magnet.

So turn it with the screwdriver to "release" the bolty/screw thingy and then mixture of gravity, jiggling and maybe magnetism will do the trick. We fortunately have screwdrivers that have magnetised ends. But have managed without...

um - was any glue involved? I know I once put the wrong bit into a Malm chest of drawers & after a lot of gouging got it out again...

The round things can be loosened - I think you put the screw thing into the hole, then push the round thing onto them & then tighten it? So you can loosen it & take it all out again...I think...but not if you glued it...

HTH!

oh, & pref no pins either. I managed to assemble a Billy bookcase with 2 of the 3 fixed shelves chipboard side out; but having already knocked pins into the nice smooth side which was the wrong way round, I just left it

I haven't glued...I have un turned/released it with screw driver and jiggled, but it's not budging.

They are now made with plastic, so a magnet won't help!

I'll have another jiggle.

Yeah I did that too! I seem to remember using one screwdriver to unscrew, whilst using another screwdriver to lever it outwards. And swearing a lot. Good luck

as it's plastic, have you got a long thin pointy thing of some kind you could poke/tap into it gently & then pull it out?

(meat skewer might work)

LynetteScavo · 08/05/2010 22:35
