Having spent my childhood in West Devon and moving up to Berkshire as a teenager.(which took along time to settle) Now having the urge to move back down to Devon to bring my children up in this beautiful area. We currently live in a nice town with good schools, but every year we holiday in the same area and have fallen in love with a house in this lovely village.

Want to go but worried about uprooting the children from their schools and friends. Any advice would be welcome.

Move, but it is worth depending on where you want to be, having a look over the Devon/Cornwall borders as well. Property is cheaper in the Tamar Valley for instance, but still very close to West Devon. I can get from the Tamar Valley to Tavistock in 10 minutes.
