first off... hello!
after lots of lurking this is my first post

right after 4 years of living with the kitchen from hell we are finally getting a new fitted kitchen. however i am very stuck on what colour to do the walls/ splashbacks/ floor

it is a biggish kitchen diner and we are having ikea abstrakt super shiny units mainly in white , with a few full height black ones ( with larder/fridge/oven).black ones like this:www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/kitchen/ worktop is black with white bits in. we also have a dark purple/plum coloured sofa we dont want to change.

I want some bold contemporary colour on at least one wall but i dont know what.
any suggestions gratefully received.

I immediately think of a pale turquoise/sky blue. With purple sofa in front. What colour splashback are you going for? Might consider blue-tinted glass a la Ideal Home...

You can probably get away with most colours as a feature because of the monochrome units.... What colours do you like? If there is good light in the room you could go for quite a deep colour, eg teal, sage green or even a deep pinky red. Grey is very "in" right now and a strong mid grey would also work if colour is not your thing.
