Replacing gas fire - what would you do?

Don't have much money. We have a gas fire with marble surround. It's ok but not very aesthetically pleasing. We don't use much, just occasionally in the evening in the winter. Was nice.

Thinking we may replace when we redo the living room but with what? Woodburning stove too OTT (and expensive)? it's mainly for decoration but would be nice to be able to have it on.

Anyone know any cheap options?

Are you replacing the surround or the actual fire??

Flueless fires are pretty cheap to buy and look very stylish!

not sure about fire surround prices....but it's amazing what you can do with some paint or through marble mosaic. GET CRAFTY!!!
