Is moving house supposed to be this stressful...?

We have had an offer accepted but it is a v. expensive house which worries me but DH says we can afford it, though things will be a bit tight.

We are moving about 20 miles away to try and get a better schooling for our DCs but I worry about uprooting them.

And I worry about leaving what we know and what the new area will be like. It's actually very nice but I just can't see anything objectively any more.

Whenever I think about it I just feel stressed. And I'm not sleeping either. Is this normal!?

Don't they say that moving house is the most stressful thing you will ever do? Even more stressful than divorce?

We moved to a new area about 2 years ago and I was nervous/stressed about it, but everything is fine and we are very happy here.

I have spent alot of time moving around for my job before I became a SAHM so was pretty used to that feeling.

I find writing lists and making notes helps me control all stressful thoughts. For me nothing looks nearkly as bad as when I can read it back, iyswim

I will have to try writing some + and - lists, that might help. It's just that the whole issue has just become associated with stress for me. People ask if I'm excited and I'm just not. DH and I are just stressed about it. It is so tempting to give it all up and stay where we are but we need to move as the school situation is a bit desperate.

I bet once you have moved and settled in, there will be no looking back.

Goodluck with it all.
