When we moved into our new house a couple of years ago, my partner decided they wanted to be able to hear music in every room and also to have TVs in the rooms we wanted them, to be wall mounted and not have any cables showing. Out of the blue we received an email from a company called Sound Audio Solutions who offered their services as audio visual engineers. Thinking we were helping a new company get off the ground, my partner contacted them and advised what it was we wanted and was told this wouldn't be a problem. A person claiming to be called Stuart came round and discussed all the work and priced it at around £5,000. After some discussion, and not knowing any better, we decided to pay this as it would be good for the future. This Stuart came round and put speakers in every room and hooked up a hi fi amplifier and DVD etc. The first and second DVD players all had problems and were replaced but the third seemed to last a few weeks so once the speakers were in, we thought everything was done. We left some of the work to be done once decorating had been done. A few months later the speakers in one of the rooms starting buzzing so we contacted Sound Audio Solutions to advise them. We didn?t hear anything back. A few weeks later, the speakers in another room started buzzing by which time the speakers in the other room were making such a noise we had to turn them off. We contacted Sound Audio Solutions again and still they refused to speak to us. We then started leaving messages and emailing regularly. Right up until the DVD player stopped working. By this time, all the speakers were buzzing so loudly we couldn?t listen to them and had to switch them off. Having said that, DVD player had stopped working so wouldn?t play any music through them anyway. We eventually got to the point we were contacting Sound Audio Solutions on a daily basis, even saying we appreciated they were not going to rectify the problems or finish the work but could they at least advise if the buzzing was dangerous. They didn?t even have the courtesy to reply to any of the mail or messages. Eventually, through a reputable hi fi dealer, we found another audio visual engineer who looked at the problem for us and advised we had been ripped off with sub standard equipment by a company that didn't have the best of reputations. This is just a word of warning to any other families out there who might be conned by this company. It?s a real shame because had Sound Audio Solutions actually been sound, they could have had a lot more work because we had more work done in our house by the new person AND in another property. Frustratingly, we had originally recommended Sound Audio Solutions and specifically this Stuart person to friends who were also left unsatisfied so we were completely left with egg on our faces. The company is still trading so be very wary
