We have just had a quote in for building a small fence at the front of our property and replacing four or five panels of the back garden fence and it is eye-watering. I can't help feeling I'm being ripped off - the carpenter did some work for us at £100 a day but now wants £600 plus materials, tool hire, parking etc etc etc meaning it could be £800-plus. I don't think it could be more than two days' work - does anyone know anyone reliable and reasonable in Islington/Holloway area?
