Hello

I live in London and hopefully we will get an exchange date any time soon. I need to ring around for quotes for removal companies?

Can anyone recommend a good company from eexperience?

Not actually moved yet but have got in line Re-move. We have had to pull out of 2 pencilled in dates so far and it has been no problem. We have a whole packing set of boxes, paper, tape etc which we've had for about 6 weeks and haven't paid for, but they aren't worried, said we pay when we move. The guy who came to quote us was SOOOO nice, no grumps about all the books and all the stairs...yes I know we're paying them but we have had real miseries moaning about the 4 flights of stairs and no lift scenario.
I hope they are good on the day!

James Removals. Recommended to me on here, and I'm a fan. Nice chaps! Took loads of care over my lovely new carpets, etc.

We used Pickfords last time we moved (having used a small company the previous time, which was an utter disaster - they damaged lots of our furniture then threatened to come round and duff us up when we complained!!!) and they were very good, plus it's worth noting that they are very open to negotiation on price, which surprised me for a big company. They are keen for business at the moment I think. We paid less to move back up north with them than we paid to a crappy local man with a van to move down south 3 years ago.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Will be on the phone to shop around. Hoping all goes thru in the next few weeks.

Fingers crossed.
