Are we the unluckiest sellers ever? Just lost our third buyer!! Has anyone sold after losing as many / more?

AGhhhh! Can't believe we lost our buyer again today. We've lost them all for stupid reasons. There's nothing wrong with our house and we've always sold again within 2 weeks but I'm soooo bored of this game. If our vendor won't wait for us I'm stepping off the roundabout for 6 months at least. Can anyone give me any light at the end of the tunnel?

YES. We spent ages going 'OK everyone knows it's 3rd time lucky, so our 3rd buyer will be the one' - oh nooooo they weren't!

We did actually end up losing the house we wanted to buy - but with hindsight it was not the right house. We sold when we picked up our 4th buyer - so hang on in there! And are in a much nicer house!

If it's meant to be it will be. That is the mantra that got me through the living hell that is trying to move home.

Thanks Whoamireally! Heard today our seller is happy to wait a few weeks for us so fingers crossed. It's taken us so long to find somewhere - there's so little available in our buying price bracket. I guess there might be a little more competition for us selling though (we're just under stamp duty) and I'm also guessing first time buyers (as all ours have been) are quite jittery at the moment. But glad to hear there's at least one similar hopeful story out there for us to cling to...

We lost 2 buyers in late 2008, and eventually accepted a 3rd at £25k less than the original offer as we didn't want to lose the house we were buying, which was also a good price.

Then, at the last minute, after hanging on for us, our vendor changed his mind. So we were left having accepted much less for our house for no reason.

We still sold our house and have been renting for exactly a year .

It remains to be seen whether we made the right decision, just waiting to find a house that we like. In actual fact, it has to beour dream home because I am NEVER NEVER moving again.

I don't think I'm being helpful am I! I think I'm just saying don't sell for the sake of it.

Cheers Assume - Luckily(?) we cant possibly accept a low offer or we wouldn't be able to make our puchase work. The offers have in fact been creeping very very slowly up - mind you all the property round here's selling for peak or higher prices at the moment - it's nuts! We're so incredibly lucky really - I hate to complain when there are so very many so much worse off. I want to slap myself sometimes, but I hate having to be obsessed by bloody houses - I swear its affecting my sanity. "What's for you won't pass you by" my mate's mum used to say - here's to finding the perfect home when it's ready for us eh?

the house we're trying to buy was readvertised today! They agreed a week ago to give us "a few weeks" to find another buyer - We've only had one day of viewings so far, but we have more and a second viewing booked in for this Saturday. Our agent has kept the vendors agent informed but we haven't even had a phone call to warn us they'd had a change of heart. I'm fighting back tears now hoping this is just some horrible mistake but I'm begining to realy believe we're cursed.
