Does anyone live in Langley Park, Beckenham - what's it like?

We're thinking of our next move. Currently in Beckenham and our 4 year old starts school here in Sept. Need a bigger house and one in Langley Park has come up. I've always been under the impression it's very much for professional couples and commuters - have I got it wrong? We've a 4 year old and a one year old. Property we're looking at has a small garden but near a Square. Are the Squares and green spaces used by the residents or would we be the only ones out there with the scooter and football?!

I don?t live in Langley Park (in South Norwood, actually), but if I had money I would defo move there. Apparently it has very good schools (both primary and secondary) and it is nice quiet area as much as I looked around. I don?t think you would regret. And I thought Beckenham was nice but I am not sure now if they still have good schools.

do you mean langley park gated dev or park langley area? lots of families live in gated dev. Park langley has a lot of retired couples but I think there are families too. Schools are excellent in this area.

Lived in Beckenham all my life so prob. biased. Langley Park area is good area with mainly family homes - great parks around for kids and adults. Gated development has lot of flats as well as houses; new primary school as well. Most schools in area are good although best have very small catchment area so do your research!
PS Can I do your HIP when you move?

We are not far away. My dd goes to Langley Park for Girls secondary. Lovely area. Nice parks around. Beckenham nicer than Bromley although shopping is good there.
