Ikea Kitchens......does anyone have any experience or views?

Views good and bad gladly received. We are considering an Ikea kitchen and went the other day to look. It is hard to know really.

I have three other questions if anyone can help...

What are their actual appliances like ie oven/ hob?
What is the stone worktop like?
Has anyone had experience of them doing the fitting too?

Many thanks!

We had one in our last house and it was excellent for the money. They fitted it too and the guy was great. Everyone commented on how lovely it was, and we had a really nice belfast style sink (which I miss!) No probs at all with the hob/oven. I would recommend them.

Thank you! We liked the Belfast sink too. DH really liked this tap thing on a spring. I am keen to find out about durability and practicality. Thank you for responding.

I had the belfast sink but sold it in the end, my biggest regret ever. I have an ikea kitchen under the stairs, have had it about 8 years but never fitted.

Can't comment on your specific fittings but we're on our 2nd (through moving house) ikea kitchen and will be installing a 3rd in our new house. We think they're great value for money, the choice of units and styles is large and they seem to last well. Dh fits it himself..

waffley bit - feel free to ignore:
We now have our 'ikea kitchen traditions' ...We spend months planning it with the online planner and then do a night visit involving dinner of meatballs (got to be done) spend ages with kitchen planner order type people sorting it all out and then pick it up. Last time we had the dubious honor of being the last customers out the door at 11.30pm

We've been really pleased with our Ikea kitchen, very good value for money. We put the units together themselves - it is so easy, honestly, and then got our own fitter to fit it which saved us heaps - think we paid about £350. I think if you have the stone worktop you have to use their fitters though.

Have been fairly pleased with the appliances, although they weren't particularly cheap and some of the features on our oven are a bit annoying. I think if I did it again I'd source our own oven and hob. We did source our own sink as I didn't like the stainless steel ones and but didn't want a Belfast because of the lack of draining space.

Thank you everyone. It's great to hear proper feedback from real people!
