If an estate agent lists a property as "On Hold"...

Does that mean under offer?

There are a few houses listed on the site as "on hold"

As opposed to "sold"

We enquired about one that was "on hold" and we were given a viewing. Basically with that on the vendors were being picky as to who looked round, I think they had had a lot of time wasters. But I'm guessing it could cover a hold host of reasons.

We had viewed a house, a few weeks later when we requested a second viewing we were told it was on hold.

The EA rang back to say that they would only let me second view if I was going to put in an offer, erm I needed to second view it (we had just missed out on a house that we wanted) to see if I wanted to make an offer.

So I said I offer X which was way below asking price because I didn't want to commit myself before viewing it again (plus it had a converted room with no planning or building regs which was ringing alarm bells) EA said it is the asking price they want, I said, thanks but no thanks and bought another house

It can mean they are in 2 minds, I ended up looking up planning applications and they had put in for an extension and were clearly waiting to hear about that before pulling it off the market.

Curiosity is killing me.

It's the house next door.

Empty. Landlord is selling.

Does it mean that the house has not yet had its HIP pack sorted out so cannot be marketed yet but will be as soon as the HIP is available?

Well, it's been on the market once alreayd, but is now "on hold". I guess it could be a maintenance issue (long story)

HOwever, I was hoping it was sold
