Quote for bathroom fitting - what do you think?

Just had a fitter round to quote for the following:

Fit bath and toilet (like for like)
Move sink (new plumbing will be needed for this)
Fit and install thermostatic shower and quad shower enclosure.
Tiling around bath, sink and shower.
Fit new rad/towel heater

He thought it would take about 10 days - has quoted £1200 for labour. I thought that sounded pretty reasonably - but then I know nothing about costs - what do you think?

I have no idea but it sounds very reasonable IMO!

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 26/03/2010 16:38

Pretty reasonable.

Around here tradesmen charge £180 per day so that sounds good.

Great - thanks

Sounds good to me, £180-£200 a day around here. Timescale sounds about right as well.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/03/2010 23:08

sounds very good.

BooBooChicken · 26/03/2010 23:12

is the quote just for fitting? are you supplying the shower, tiles etc.. am curious as we are in the throes of a refurb

chachachachacha · 27/03/2010 05:30

Yes - quote is just for labour - will be supplying bath, shower sink, toilet and tiles. He can get trade prices at nice local tile company too and has recommended a few independent bathroom shops too.

we have had 1400 quoted just to fit a quad shower unit and shower and related plumbing, re-tiling the wall and making good the floor tiles so they match up. where do you live, i want your person to quote me happy

Pixelvixenuk · 07/04/2010 16:45

Not bad at all - I've got a friend fitting new bath, basin and loo and he has quoted £300. I had a quote from B&Q - £1900 including tiling and flooring as well - labour only not supply.

Wigeon · 07/04/2010 19:33

Very reasonable (just had our bathroom done). Have you found all your bits and pieces yet? (tiles, bath, towel rad etc etc).
