Just need a moan.

We have been waiting for a council house for a year (which i know is not that long), we are at the top of the list as dd2 needs her own room due to SN's. We finely decided last month that we would look into renting privately due to the shortage of 3 bed council houses, we decided we wanted to move back to the village/small town i grew up in as i have family there. Anyway we thought it would be easy to find somewhere as the village is big (and growing, new houses being built) but so far only one house has come up and we missed it by one day (someone else got it) , the only other property is on the main road with no garden which would be no good for us , it looks like finding a private property is going to be just as hard then getting a council house.

Sorry for the rant, just wanted a moan and to shout ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (thats a bit better)_

I feel really guilty that i can't find a house big enough for dd2 to have her own room (she has slept in the sitting room since she was born 4 years ago).

I just want to move .

Can you sign up to Fish4Homes.co.uk? You put in your 'wish list' and they'll email you with details of properties available, when they become available and all the contact details for the estate/letting agent involved.

Thank you Iklboo, i will do that, i'm getting fed up with searching the net every day in hope that something new comes up .

Keep phoning the agents to see if they have anything new - the properties arent always put on the net right away.

With such a shortage, I found that anytime I phoned about something I had seen on the net it was already gone.

After you have phoned a few times the Agents will realise you are serious and will eventually start contacting you each time they get something that fits your criteria.

I have contacted most of the agents and given them my details.

I wish i was in the position to buy but there's no way we could afford a 3 bed.

The village we are looking at is very popular, good school, good community etc so we have to be very quick if something comes up.

I've noticed a sudden shortage of rentals in our village recently. We've been given notice by our landlord as he wants to sell (words cannot describe how I feel about this man so if we can't buy the house we'll be completely homeless.

Hope something comes up for you soon - it must be very frustrating for you. I wonder if people are trying to sell their rentals at the moment?
