Hi

I was thinking of Jesmond or Gosforth but don't know either area. We have three children in secondary school already so panicking like mad about that too.

Thanks

S

Hi silver, I live in Newcastle

Both Gosforth and Jesmond are lovely, although Jesmond can be a bit 'studenty' depending on whereabouts.

There are some good secondary schools around too, Gosforth High School, St Mary's Comp or Heaton Manor Comp to name a few

Gosforth is lovely, I belive good scghools, plus a good high street.

I don't know Jesmond very well, but it used to have a large amount of students I think.

Gosforth definitely has the better schools for secondary

Jesmond and Gosforth are fine, both have good schools.
Studenty areas in both, but not a problem when I was there.

Hi everyone thanks for your responses - are places in good secondary schools hard to find like the majority of the country? I am really concerned about having to move three secondary school children to new schools....

You could also consider the coast. Whitley Bay is very nice, easy commute to Newcastle on the metro. Whitley Bay High School and Marden High School both v good.

I second the coast - Tynemouth very nice (was brought up there). The Kings School great if you are looking to go private.
