For those who have had house extension, what did you pay for your structural engineer?

We just got a bill in for just under £900 excluding SER fee and trial pit things. The architect seems to think this is cheap (!). Just wondering what others have paid for a similar service?

We paid about £1500. Its a full width, 10ft long extension across the back of the house.

So I agree with your architect

Then again, we're in SW London which probably makes a difference.

Sounds about right. Be aware that they may need to visit again if there are problems, and then you obviously get another bill.

Our trial holes thing cost about £250 I think.
