Decorating room with French rococo style furniture - white or cream?

Have finally persuaded DH that we should decorated our room a bit more flamboyantly than currently.

I really like the French rococo style furniture. I had been planing to have white painted furniture - like this

but now I am wondering if that will be too harsh and maybe I should go for the cream?

Any thoughts?

two words for you-DUST TRAP

I could live with the dusting. I think it won't be worse then our current bed which is a black iron bedframe and gets really dusty.

The cream is more authentic and less 'glaring', particularly for such a decorative style.

thanks YB - that was my thinking

what colour are your walls.

At the moment they are yellow, but I would be repainting them.

I had envisioned a pale grey shade, with the white furniture.

But if I went for cream furniture I would paint a different colour. Am worried the walls for the cream furniture would end up looking like magnolia though.

We have pale grey walls (F&B Cornforth white) with white furniture and that white bed would look amazing in our room, I want it! I do prefer the white and it would look lovely with grey, better than the cream would

I'd go for white with a grey. White looks sexier and more Gustavian/Swedishy authentic. Then cream could look a little sickly maybe?
