Reinforces the sad realisation that we won't be moving anywhere soon. It's not as if this place is my dream home, just a lot better than the one we have now. Ours has lost such a lot of money in the last year. Bugger!

Yep, know the feeling - there is a house I like that we would need to borrow £400k on top of the money from our current home, in order to buy and modernise (and this is a three-bed semi). Madness, utter madness.

I sort of hoped that everywhere would lose value at roughly the same rate - but houses like ours (3 bed terraces) have dropped like a stone. DH is now earning a lot more than he was but it's still out of reach. Don't want to move up one tiny step - seems a bit pointless - but we can't afford to do more.
