Wilmslow!

Please can someone advise me on Wilmslow?

Myredcardigan????

We are looking at buying in South Wilmslow, have a budget of around £550k (but would like to spend less if possible).

We have a child in reception class at a small village school (Church of Englan). The C of E school in Wilmslow seems very small indeed - not sure how I feel about that.

Advice on areas/schools in south wilmslow greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Wilmslow is quite up market, lots of professional couples, yummy mummys. Depends where you come from and what you want. It always seemed more like the south east than northern to me. I used to live in one of the cheaper suburbs and preferred that to Wilmslow but go and have a look around. House prices expensive compared to the rest of Manchester but with £550 you should be OK.

TBH we drove through and thought "WAG central" and were really put off by that.

However, as a location, it does tick a lot of boxes - reasonable high school, reasonable stock of houses, close to countryside etc.

I'm thinking perhaps I can ignore the WAG-ometer that's going off.

Perhaps I'm being naive?!

I knew a lovely family who were totally not WAG like who lived in Wilmslow. Their kids were very happy at the high school and did very well. All the WAG kids go to one of the various preps in the area.

Gorsey Bank and Ashdene are good schools that are larger.
