hmm - sounds like it is it at the higher end

we paid £800 for removals last time including packing from a 3 to a 4 bed house (also round the corner)

We paid £500 3 years ago to move. No packing.

Get several people to quote you.

We have just moved, paid £1500, before you add insurance etc that was 3 bed (into storage, but that figure doesn't include the storage costs) and into a 4 bed next week.

That was Pickfords but a local company quoted us the same amount!

Our first ever move, 3 bed to a 3 bed back in 2001 was £550!

That's mad.

We paid £700 a few months back for moving AND full packing from a 2 bed 1st floor flat to a house - moving from north to south london. 20 boxes included. And it was a fairly serious removals firm not a man with van. Moving Home Company, they were really good & I'd recommend getting a quote off them.

insurance we didn't need as we checked our contents insurance and it covered removals damage (only if professionally packed tho).

we moved 18 months ago from a 2-bed terraced to a 3-bed semi, just around the corner too.
No packing / storing and it cost us £220.
