we cant decide which to go for?
currently have an old system boiler. Wondering if we save a bit by putting in a sealed system boiler we will compromise on our sanity- hot water running out all the time...2 kids...bathtimes extra washing etc..

what do you suggest for a 3 bed semi

thanks

Hi Vannah,

Definitely go for the combi - they are brilliant but get the biggest model you can. That way you get good hot water flow. If it is a lower output model then sometimes the water flow rate is insufficient for 2 things running at once.

Only down side of a combi is that as it's a pressurized system your central heating system will need to be able to take the additional pressure - so needs to be throughly checked for leaks with the new system. This can be difficult if a lot of it is under floor boards etc.

The other issue is that if someone runs a cold tap whilst you are in the shower or flushes the loo it can make the water run a bit colder for a couple of seconds.

These weren't major issues for me as I preferred constant unlimited hot water with out the bills of heating a whole tank and you get much better pressure on your shower.
