So we have recently started house hunting in earnest and there is nothing, absolutely nothing on the market, and the few houses that we've seen have either been in a shit state or hideously overpriced. Estate agents keep promising me that they know of a perfect house for us that will come on the market 'next week', as they have just valued it etc. etc. and then the house in question never materialises. I am getting fed up already. Anyone in the same boat, come and join the rant!

So we looked at a small 3 bed (3rd bedroom is teeny tiny) with massive extension potential - you can go into the garage and above, into the garden and into the loft and basically have as much room as you like. It's on for 50k more than 3 beds of similar size. Do they make you pay for the extension potential?

Gosh another thread popped up, I have been moaning about househunting since 2008! I feel for all of you and I'm happy for those who succeeded. DP keeps saying prices are unsustainable, bla, bla but nothing is giving here.

This is my second rental home in a new town but it's not too bad so I'm not desperate like I was last year.

Same story: small supply, scary prices, people who bid crazily.

But we saw the first signs last week when a house we put an offer on (low than asking) got its huge asking priced reduced by 40K a week later. They haven't refused our offer but obviously this house must be some sort of lemon as nobody else is wanting it. I don't mind doing the work it requires, so we are awaiting developments.

Quite right noddyholder!! We are biding our time too although very frustrated with renting now. Am waiting for all the overpriced houses in my village (been on for well over a year some of them )to come down in price!

I know quite a few people planning to put their houses on the market in the 'spring' and apparently a huge number of houses have come onto the market nationally over the last 2 weeks. Don't give up hope Feierabend

Yes I've been told of some houses that will come on the market in 'spring', just when does spring start?

New house on the market, looks like it has potential so ring EA to book viewing.

"Can we see the house next weekend?"
"No, there's a tenant in so there are no viewings"
"When will the tenant be out?"
"We might know by early next month, the Landlord hasn't decided whether to sell or continue renting"

Could someone tell me what the point of putting the house on the market was?
