hi

would appreciate opinions please. am tiling a splash back in the kitchen, black brick set bevelled tiles - at min i have a stainless steel splash back behind the hob, but am wondering if i tile whether to get rid of it and tile the entire thing or whether to tile around it.
if i tile around it will it stand out and possibly look a little odd?

at first i was dead against getting rid of it as it cost me a stupid amount of money, but the more i think about it the more i think i maybe should.

what do you think?

it would look a bit like this if i keep the stainless steel one
like this

or if i tile fully like this

Depends how much you like the splashback? I would do whatever you prefer regardless of the cost as it will only annoy you so worth getting right I think.

keep the splashback

im totally undecided. as usual!

the splash back looks nice but on thumbing through a kitchen catalogue it looked as though most people have a splashback if they have upstands and no tiles and if they tile it looks like they tile the lot.

both look nice - just not sure about a combination of both.

If you do tile the whole thing, just make sure the tiles are heat resistant,or they could crack or craze. That is what happened in my mum's kitchen.
