Bottle of wine for the next door neighbour!

Buda · 02/02/2010 09:55

You are having fun with this new house aren't you?!

Agree bottle of wine for neighbour.

LoveBeingAMummy · 02/02/2010 09:55

tbh that's between them. agree re the wine.

You just have to assume that the builder did threaten him, and apologize profusely, and say you will have words. (You will of course NOT have words with the builder, you need to keep them both sweet)

Is this the house with the basement which does not comply with building regulations, and everybody adviced you to run a mile?

LoveBeingAMummy · 02/02/2010 09:56

BTW good luck with your neighbour when you move in.

I agree with 2010, keep them both sweet, it sounds a bit like a "flare up" because of what happened. If I had a drill come through my wall unexpectedly, I might get stroppy too, but I'd calm down once I realised no harm done and that it was all going to get put right! And if the builder had the drill in his hand, then if he was waving his arms as he spoke, I guess he could point a drill at someone! No offence meant, but offence taken!

Lets hope nothing else goes through the roof, and good luck!

Sounds like you're being perfectly reasonable - think you need to just bite your tongue, carry on being reasonable about it and hope that your neighbour sees sense soon enough. If he doesn't then, unfortunately, he's an arse.

I knew you were going to get the comment re the noise, had the same thing with our neighbour before moving in. He complained about the old owners and how they didn't take care of the house/garden had horrible teenagers etc and then when we were working on the house suddenly we were being moaned at about the noise. We felt bad to begin with but since we've moved in it turns out he's a noisy neighbour who sings and plays guitar!
